Job Description
Job Posting Title: Associate Engineer - Mechanical
Justification: We’re looking for an Associate Mechanical engineer who will be responsible
for sustaining program/projects executions. You’ll be part of engineering team in Pune,
India which develops solutions for lighting products used in various business segments.
Knowledge of basics of mechanical engineering, awareness of standard design practices,
manufacturing process, PLM tools etc. must be in your DNA.
Job Responsibilities:
• Understand project requirements from global counterparts, for sustaining engineering and lead documentations of various product families.
• Work with global teams to ensure design progression via CAD modeling/reviews, drawing/drafting and model creation, customer service, manufacturing and materials
functions to complete the product engineering process
• Own and coordinate’s the technical assistance for revisions to Bills of Material and mechanical assemblies and drawings and does frequent changes via Engineering
change management notification to the Material Master data in PLM’s SAP
• Manage master data within SAP including creating materials and maintaining material status, material creation tool to efficiently process orders.
• Responsible for ECN/ECO releases and implementation while working on engineering requests (ER) and product deviation requests (PDR) as necessary, with expected lead
time and quality
• Driving discontinuation and obsolescence projects to include component substitutions and ECN's, first article inspection and production release, Assist factories with BOM
Error Corrections, and use of engineering tools
• Responsible for analysis/reviews for compliance, DFM, DFA with plants/third party vendors.
• Support existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process.
• Interacts with all levels of leadership and manufacturing personnel and is responsible for various data management functions
• Individual should contribute to sustaining responsibilities to Sustaining goals. (40% data focus, 60% sustaining (Drawings, 3D models, ER, PDR etc.)
• Actively participate in design reviews, design proposals and documentation required to define & control products.
• Hands on experience with design of products from concept to commercialization including and not limited to part detailing and designing, component and material
selection, drawing creation, 3D modeling of parts/assemblies and 2D dimensioning and tolerance of parts.
Working Experience:
• Experience in the lighting industry is preferred.
• Experience in design & development of mechanical products (Lighting preferred) with relevant technical experience in - 2D / 3D CAD package (Solid Works, Creo, AutoCAD)
and manufacturing.
• Experience with and proven knowledge of injection molded plastic, die cast, sheet metal design, manufacturing methods & processes.
• Hands on experience with design of products from concept to commercialization including and not limited to part detailing and designing, component and material
selection, drawing creation, 3D modeling of parts/assemblies and 2D dimensioning and tolerance of parts.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical) with 1- 3 years of relevant experience in
mechanical engineering.
• Well-developed interpersonal, data accuracy and communication skills are also a
must to achieve on-time completion of multiple projects.
• Well-developed written and oral communication & interpersonal skills.
