About the job

Systems Development Engineering (SDE) at Google is a role where you manage services and systems at scale. SDEs creatively put their engineering discipline to use automating the mundane and reducing toil. We don’t just write code to fix bugs, but emphasize the development of tools and solutions that fix classes of problems. We know it’s hard to control what you can’t measure – so we focus on observability: instrumenting first, then turning data into knowledge, and finally knowledge into action. We know that the operational efficiency of Google systems, services, virtual compute environments and the operating systems that power them impact the environment, not just the bottom line. We know that working together we can do more, and that community matters.

Google brings together people with a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We encourage them to collaborate, think big and take risks in a blame-free environment. We promote self-direction to work on meaningful projects, while we also strive to create an environment that provides the support and mentorship needed to learn and grow.

Together we engineer and build the infrastructure, tools, access and telemetry for systems that enable orchestration of Google-scale services. Come build things that matter.

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Own and support the needs of one of Google's server infrastructure and cloud environments. Work directly with other server and service owners to ensure the continued expansion, reliability, and sustainability of the Google service infrastructure.
  • Support physical, virtual, and cloud servers in a highly dynamic environment. Solve problems by digging deep into Linux internals or cloud APIs.
  • Architect and develop moderately sized tools with a focus on scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Lead and participate in efforts to transition workflows from physical systems to Google Cloud technologies. Manage project priorities, define tasks, coordinate activities, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Provide guidance on design decisions to keep the business productive.

Role- Senior SoC Design Verification Engineer, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience in Verification, verifying digital logic at RTL level using SystemVerilog or Specman/E for Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) or ASICs.

  • Experience creating and using verification components and environments in standard verification methodology.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience verifying digital systems using standard IP components/interconnects (e.g., microprocessor cores, hierarchical memory subsystems).

  • Experience with verification techniques and the full verification lifecycle.

  • Experience with performance verification of ASICs and ASIC components.

  • Experience with ASIC standard interfaces and memory system architecture.

  • Experience with multiple SoC projects/cycles.

About the job

Our computational challenges are so big, complex and unique we can't just purchase off-the-shelf hardware, we've got to make it ourselves. Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google's services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

As an Executive Design Verification Engineer, you will use design and verification expertise to verify digital designs. You will collaborate with design and verification engineers in active projects and perform verification. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of verification which can range from verification planning, test execution, or collecting coverage.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the verification of digital design blocks and interact with design engineers to identify important verification scenarios.
  • Create and enhance constrained-random verification environments using SystemVerilog and Universal Verification Methodology. Verify designs with SystemVerilog Assertions and industry leading formal tools.
  • Identify and write all types of coverage measures for stimulus and corner-cases.
  • Debug tests with design engineers to deliver functionally correct design blocks.
  • Close coverage measures to identify verification holes and to show progress towards tape-out.

Please apply only if your experience background is matching the role.
