Lead Data Engineer - Target India
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Use your technology acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging data technologies within specialized areas of the technology domain. Evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within Target’s technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership.
Research & Development: Initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities for new data technologies.
Strategic Planning: Lead or set strategy for testing and debugging at the platform or enterprise level. Serve as an expert resource in creating and improving standards and best practices to ensure high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure data solutions.
Design & Lifecycle Management: Lead the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of data services. Provide the team with thought leadership to promote re-use and develop consistent, scalable patterns.
Enterprise Impact: Participate in planning data services that have enterprise impact. Provide suggestions for handling routine and moderately complex technical problems, escalating issues when appropriate.
Data Analysis: Gather information, data, and input from a wide variety of sources; identify additional resources when appropriate, engage with stakeholders, and conduct in-depth analysis of information.
Project Management: Develop plans and schedules, estimate resource requirements, and define milestones and deliverables. Monitor workflow and risks; play a leadership role in mitigating risks and removing obstacles.
Implementation & Automation: Lead and participate in complex data construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements met.
Standards & Best Practices: Establish new standards and best practices to monitor, test, automate, and maintain data systems. Serve as an expert resource in disaster recovery and disaster recovery planning.
Continuous Learning: Stay current with Target’s technical capabilities, infrastructure, and technical environment. Maintain deep technical knowledge within areas of expertise.
Data Modeling: Develop fully attributed data models, including logical, physical, and canonical. Influence data standards, policies, and procedures.
Optimization: Install, configure, and/or tune data management solutions with minimal guidance. Monitor data management solutions and identify optimization opportunities.
About You:
Education: 4-year degree or equivalent experience
Experience: 7+ years of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation
Domain Knowledge: Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target’s technology capabilities and key competitors’ products and differentiating features
Technical Expertise: Demonstrates broad and deep expertise in multiple computer languages and frameworks (e.g., open source). Designs, develops, and approves end-to-end functionality of a product line, platform, or infrastructure. Is proficient in building Data Pipelines using Scala, Spark, Hadoop, HiveQL etc, and streaming frameworks such as Kafka. Good to have experience in building near real time data systems.
Communication Skills: Communicates and coordinates with project team, partners, and stakeholders
System Analysis & Optimization: Demonstrates expertise in analysis and optimization of systems capacity, performance, and operational health
Data Lifecycle Management: Understands and develops solutions to foster data lifecycle management
Technical Knowledge: Maintains deep technical knowledge within areas of expertise. Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
Scalability: Experience in building highly scalable distributed systems
Sr. Manager, Planning (Division Support)
RESPONSIBILITIES-:
• Lead a team of merch planners in service of building core planning capability at TII
• Actively engage with planning partners in MPLS to iterate and evolve the working model
that is efficient and scalable
• Be the point person for VP’s/ Sr. Divisional/ Divisional on division support to present
findings and share learnings & opportunity areas
• Ensure consistent delivery of error free planning routines on time
• Coach & develop planners to build a high performing team
• Identify areas in the work to be efficient and drive productivity within the team
Reporting/Working Relationship
• Reports to Director, Planning
• Works closely with all MPLS Planning Leaders (VP, Sr. Divisionals/ Divisionals, Global
capability team)
REQUIREMENTS-:
• 10+ years of relevant experience in merchandise planning
• Outstanding financial acumen, with deep knowledge of the nuances of retail accounting
• Knowledge of financial and merchandise planning systems and processes
• Knowledge of supply chain planning (allocation, replenishment and operations)
• Excellent understanding of mass merchandising, retail, e-commerce and multi-channel
retailing
• Depth and breadth of understanding the market and category
• Proven ability to work and negotiate with a wide variety of vendors from large,
sophisticated national vendors to small, niche, regional vendors
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate with
all levels within organization
• Strong collaboration skills to build long-term strategic plans
• Curiosity- someone who is committed to learning how Target works, learning Planning
@ Target, and is passionate about teaching/ helping their team learn.
• Comfort with Ambiguity- This will be a new role, supporting team members who are
new to Target and piloting new ways of working @ Target. It will be critical to have

Sr Engineering Manager
About You: The Sr. Engineering Manager (SEM) is responsible for a managing a team of full stack engineers that is building highly innovative and cutting edge robotics solutions. This role is accountable for leading a team, developing code, deploying and managing in production. Most importantly, the SEM, while working with the Product owners drives the product Net promoter score (NPS), user satisfaction, building the product roadmap and delivering highly functional, exceptionally innovative and intelligent software. You will be called upon to be the technical representative for your team during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning. Success in this role will require strong and innovative approaches to problem solving, great technical leadership, excellent communication (written and verbal, formal and informal), flexibility, accountability and a self-motivated working style with attention to detail. Requirements
- 4-year degree
- Proven experience of 12 years in software engineering, with a focus on full-stack development
- Demonstrated experience of 4 years in a leadership or management role, leading engineering teams to deliver complex software projects/products
- Demonstrates familiarity with current and emerging technologies in own scope of responsibility, and develops ability to apply these technologies
- Demonstrates and continuously builds upon domain-specific knowledge
- Strong technical knowledge in programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Kotlin, React, SpringBoot
- Understands the concepts of distributed programming and applies it to their domain
- Knowledge of associated technologies like Micronaut, Microfrontends is a plus.
- Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education.
