It's rightly said, that when you are committed towards something, it really shows in your action, and Tata Power, under its CSR Flagship: Pay Autention Program, proved that Inclusion is definitely not just a buzzword for them! April, commonly known for the Autism Awareness Month, marked a significant chapter for Tata Power, as they leveled up their Inclusion journey with Atypical Advantage. 

Outside the company walls, in the streets of Bangalore and Jamshedpur, murals came to life under the skilled hands of R Kedhar, Akshay Mathur & Niyaz Hussain, speaking volumes about acceptance and diversity. It was the first time that a company trusted artists on the spectrum with such huge artworks, a decision that brought them immense satisfaction and delight. While within the company's walls, employees found relief from stress through mindful art sessions led by a mother-daughter duo, Shalini & Gayatri Gupta, where the employees switched off their minds and let the colors take control.

But knowledge was the key that unlocked hearts and minds, as the employees received weekly mailers that not only made them aware about the condition of Autism but also kept them engaged through different puzzles and quizzes. The winner was honored with fridge magnets made by Anubha, an artist on the Autism spectrum, while the other employees gathered, eager to learn, to understand, and to dismantle the barriers that divide us.

To include the element of celebration, Ananya, a talented singer on the autism spectrum was also invited to perform, that provided her with a platform to showcase her talent and instilled a sense of self-confidence. But Tata Power's journey didn't end here; from organizing sensitization session by Darshana to conducting  neurodiversity simulation games, where employees got a chance to learn through experience and understanding became tangible, Tata Power left no stones unturned to infuse inclusion into its organization.

Kicking off and initiating a Speed Mentoring program, experts from Tata Power are providing one-on-one mentoring sessions for individuals with disabilities, nurturing their ideas and steering them toward a promising future. In addition, Tata Power introduced the Purple Directory, a comprehensive resource that includes contact information for over 280 NGOs, vocational centers, rehabilitation units, and clinics dedicated to aiding individuals on the autism spectrum. They also launched India's first phygital Autism Support Network to empower parents and caregivers with the tools needed for early intervention in the development of children and young adults with Autism. Although April has concluded, Tata Power is ensuring that its ongoing efforts extend beyond a single month. Its proactive approach to sensitize it’s large workforce in rural & urban areas about Autism is laying the foundation for a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with Autism and their families.
