Nisha
Tayal, a graduate in economics, is a visually impaired house maker, a mother of a
son and a voice over artist. She was diagnosed with Retina Pigmentosa in
childhood and started wearing spectacles from the age of 5. Due to deterioration
in vision over the years, she became totally blind at the age of 30. Due to the
fear of society, Nisha’s family asked her to get married at the age of 21,
which left a void in her heart as she couldn’t pursue her career. However, with
the love and support of her in-laws Nisha tried to fill that void and was
determined to do something for herself. Nisha started working with Radio Udaan
five years back and has her own YouTube
channel where she narrates short stories. Nisha believes this has been the
source of her constant motivation and gave her the confidence to communicate
well. She is hopeful to improve and believes in learning something more with
every passing day.
