Short Bio
Amrit is a visual artist whose creative journey began in early childhood, using drawing as her first language of self-expression. Even before she could speak, she communicated emotions and experiences through sketching. Encouraged by her school teachers from the age of eight, Amrit developed a unique visual style, drawing early inspiration from artists like Matisse and Kandinsky. Growing up in Dehradun, the natural environment deeply influenced her, leading to vibrant landscapes rich in color and rhythm. A later move to the NCR region shifted her focus to structured cityscapes, reflecting her changing surroundings. As she matured, her work began to explore themes of human emotion—tenderness, connection, and vulnerability—captured through bold lines, subtle shading, and minimal strokes. Today, Amrit’s style blends abstraction with figuration, creating emotive and introspective works across mediums like canvas, paper, and murals. Her recent collaboration with Asian Paints and St+art India Foundation brought her art into public spaces, expanding the scale of her storytelling while staying true to her deeply personal voice.
