Anup Kumar Singh is an accomplished contemporary artist and art educator from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Born on 5 August 1982 in the village of Haraiya Bujurg, he developed a deep passion for art from an early age. Although initially preparing for a civil services career, he discovered the potential of fine arts as a profession and pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He later completed his Master of Fine Arts from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, in 2009.
Over the years, Anup has built a distinguished career marked by artistic excellence, educational contributions, and national recognition. He has participated in more than 40 exhibitions and over 30 art camps and workshops across India and abroad. His works have been showcased at prestigious institutions including AIFACS, Triveni Kala Sangam, State and Regional Lalit Kala Akademis, and leading galleries nationwide.
A recipient of several notable awards, including the Lalit Kala Akademi Award, National Award for Best Painting by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and the Tata Steel Foundation Award, Anup was also honored with the Most Creative Person in Uttar Pradesh Award in 2024. Currently serving as an Art Teacher with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, he continues to create impactful artworks while mentoring future generations of artists.
