Mehul P. Doshi is a Gandhinagar-based artist, engineer, and visionary whose life beautifully reflects creativity, resilience, and social commitment. A Civil Engineer with more than four decades of professional experience, he has contributed not only to the world of infrastructure and design, but also to society through art, culture, and community engagement.
Living with 80% disability due to polio, Mehul Doshi transformed personal challenges into a source of strength and inspiration. His artistic journey is guided by the philosophy of “Wonder from Waste” a creative pursuit that transforms discarded and natural waste materials into meaningful works of art. His creations include artworks made on cloth mounted plywood using waste marble dust of different colours, along with compositions crafted from waste wheat stems and various other recycled materials. Through this unique approach, he celebrates sustainability, imagination, and the hidden beauty within everyday objects.
His art reflects a deep commitment to environmental consciousness and innovation, where waste materials are thoughtfully reimagined into expressive visual stories. Two solo exhibitions held in Gandhinagar showcased his distinctive artistic language and received appreciation for their originality, craftsmanship, and emotional depth.
Beyond the world of art, Mehul Doshi remains actively involved in architecture, engineering, event organization, cultural activities, and social welfare initiatives. His dynamic personality and leadership have enabled him to serve several respected social and cultural organizations across Gujarat. Whether anchoring public events, guiding community initiatives, or contributing to rehabilitation and welfare programs, he continues to inspire people with his positivity, dedication, and optimism.
