Shachindra Bisht, a bilateral amputee, is a self-taught artist, filmmaker, and former rock climber whose journey is a powerful testament to resilience and creativity. With over 20 years of experience editing documentaries and ad films, he found his true calling in painting—transforming walls, T-shirts, bags, and even climbing holds into expressive canvases. In 2023, after surviving septicaemia and losing both hands and toes, Shachindra reignited his artistic spirit by painting with a brush tied to his stump. Now based in Uttarakhand, he continues to inspire through commissioned works and community-driven art, using creativity as both catharsis and purpose.
