Sraya Mukherjee resides in Barddhaman, West Bengal. She has an Intellectual Disability. At the age of 6, she was enrolled in Asansol Anandam, a school for the specially abled children. After noticing her interest in singing at the age of 10, her mother started training her using a harmonium. After 15 years of training in school, due to some family problems she had to discontinue her schooling but her mother made sure that her training in music and art continued at home. She has been trained in painting and is also proficient in working with fabric. Although she has had a tough time during the lockdown, she is positive that things will become better soon.
