Micron Kickstarts Hiring of Persons with Disabilities at its Sanand Plant
Can persons with disabilities manufacture the chips that power your smartphones? Micron marks India’s first major foray into semiconductors and represents one of the largest investments by a leading chip-making company in the world. The plant is fully automated, equipped with robots and high-precision machines. Our journey with Micron began with a disability sensitization session for its senior leadership, followed by a tour of the plant. Micron plans to hire 12 persons with disabilities and gradually increase the count. From noodles to body wash, soaps to trucks, Atypical Advantage is now expanding into chips and turbines—transforming one manufacturing plant at a time.
When We Get to Interpret for the President & Prime Minister of India
Interpreter Ravi Shastri once dreamed of pursuing an MBA, but his family’s deep commitment to social work led him down a different path. Last month, he had the honor of interpreting for the President of India at the Convocation Ceremony of NID Ahmedabad—an experience he couldn’t be prouder of. For Rajesh Parmar, sign language wasn’t just a choice—it was a necessity. Born to deaf parents, he experienced firsthand the communication barriers in society. Recently, he interpreted for Narendra Modi’s official YouTube channel. Both Ravi and Rajesh have played a historic role in advancing accessibility for the hearing-impaired community.
When Inclusion Gets Fun: How Zomato Is Redefining Sensitization with Us
Disability sensitization can be boring. We can’t just pull employees into a room for a presentation or a talk and expect them to be engaged. That’s why we were thrilled when Vibha Kothari, DEI Manager at Zomato, shared how much they enjoyed curating fun workshops with Atypical Advantage. Employees couldn’t stop laughing when Sweta Mantrii performed a comedy set on disability at the Zomato office a few months ago or when Juhi Pandya challenged Zomato leaders to tie their shoelaces using just one hand. Our comedy and experiential learning sessions were a full house—goodbye to boring presentations! 😊
