Trishul and Tripundra

By Dhairya Kumar Pal
Description

This artwork depicts the Trishul (trident) alongside the Tripundra (three sacred ash lines), powerful symbols in Shaivism. The Trishul represents Lord Shiva’s threefold powers of creation, preservation, and destruction, as well as mastery over mind, body, and spirit. The Tripundra, traditionally worn on the forehead, signifies purification, liberation, and spiritual knowledge, with each line representing one of Shiva’s fundamental energies. Together, these elements embody divine strength, balance, and transcendence, evoking the serene yet formidable presence of the Mahadev.
