Here’s how Mad Over Donuts and Atypical Advantage Came Together to Unlock Happiness

Published on: 17 Oct, 2023

Who knew Mad Over Donuts could spread happiness in more ways than one? Yes, their donuts are out of this world and can bring a smile to even the saddest of faces, but when they joined hands with Atypical Advantage, they multiplied our happiness tenfold.

In the intrepid city of dreams, Mumbai, Mad Over Donuts wished to add vibrancy to their Powai and Colaba stores. And for this ambitious task, they chose two incredibly talented artists with disabilities - Ajay Jayaprakash and Shreya Gupta. Not only did the artists succeed with flying colours, but their pride in seeing the result of their hard work displayed in such a prominent outlet was unparalleled.

Praised by the South Indian superstar Prithviraj, Ajay Jayaprakash revels in the splash of bright colours and vivid imagery. Whether the canvas is straight or upside down, his artwork will enchant you all the same. After losing his leg in an accident, Ajay lost all hope. His saving grace was painting and photography as these activities urged him to find beauty in the mundane and live life to the fullest. The Kerala-based artist brought an immensely joyful painting to life for the Colaba store of Mad Over Donuts.

The second artist with a disability who bagged this golden opportunity to have her name etched in the Powai store of Mad Over Donuts is Shreya Gupta. Hailing from the city of Mumbai itself, she never let her hearing impairment be a hurdle in her path to success. The world fades away when Shreya holds a paintbrush and stands in front of a canvas. A wizard in contemporary and abstract art, Shreya has her paintings sold to the distant lands of the USA and Mauritius as well. Her art tells a story that lures every viewer into the painting’s world. Even her painting for Mad Over Donuts creates a magical world where donuts reign supreme and the landscape exudes happiness.

On October 9th, the MOD Powai store hosted an Art Unveiling Ceremony, graced by the presence of Mr. Tarak Bhattacharya, CEO of MOD, and Mr. Vineet Saraiwala, CEO of Atypical Advantage. Together with artist Shreya Gupta, they unveiled a remarkable piece of art that beautifully captured the essence of Powai and MOD, now proudly displayed on the store's wall. The event was brimming with enthusiasm and touched many hearts, particularly that of the artist's family.

"Thank you for the generous acknowledgement and appreciation of my work. The response and praise I received that day left me overwhelmed. This recognition has filled me with immense encouragement. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to ATYPICAL ADVANTAGE and MOD for believing in me and accompanying me on this unforgettable journey," said Shreya Gupta, the talented artist maestro.
