Job Description
Accounts Payable – Assistant Manager
PTP | Band B2 | Pune
Key Responsibilities
- Apply strong PTP process knowledge to oversee smooth, accurate AP operations.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Streamline and improve documented procedures (SOPs), ensuring updates are properly recorded.
- Support the AP Manager in delegating tasks to AP specialists, training staff, and developing departmental processes.
- Oversee vendor ageing for unusual items and ensure timely follow-up.
- Research, resolve, and communicate discrepancies or outstanding balances on vendor accounts.
- Implement and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Manage monthly AP closing, including preparation of financial reports through data collection, analysis, and summarization.
- Ensure smooth execution of internal and external audits.
Essential Hiring Skills
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong overall knowledge of AP process and accounting/PTP systems (SAP / Oracle / JD Edwards / Coupa / Tradeshift / Ariba).
- High attention to detail across complex invoices, QA checks, minor exceptions, and payments.
- Strong time management and a demonstrated commitment to learning and delivery.
Good to Have
- Exposure to process improvement projects within AP.
- Familiarity with MS Visio (process maps) and strong Excel knowledge.
- People management experience (led a team for at least a year).
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of AP benchmark processes and relevant AP tools.
