Job Description

Job Purpose:
To support day-to-day plant operations across production and maintenance for soap and crème manufacturing lines, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant output. The GAT will learn and contribute to line productivity (OEE), equipment reliability, batch execution, chemical handling, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives (TPM/Lean).

Key Responsibilities:
 Batch Preparation & Saponification: Assist in preparing feedstock (oils/fats), lye solution (NaOH/KOH), monitoring saponification parameters (temperature, pH, time), and record
batch data.
 Process Monitoring: Track real-time parameters on kettles/saponification vessels, heat exchangers, and cooling systems; ensure consistency of neat soap mass.
 Line Operations: Support changeovers, line balancing, and takt-time adherence; minimize micro-stoppages and ensure packaging integrity.
 Filling & Packaging: Operate/assist on filling machines, sachets/tubes lines, coding, and secondary packaging; perform in-process checks (weight, seal, leak).
 Soap Finishing: Operate vacuum plodders, refining, strainers, and noodles formation; support stamping and wrapping operations.
 Preventive Maintenance: Assist maintenance team in PM schedules for mixers, kettles, homogenizers, vacuum plodders, conveyors, wrappers, cartoners, boilers, chillers, compressors.
 Basic Troubleshooting: Support diagnosis of mechanical/electrical issues—belts, bearings, lubrication, sensors, pneumatic valves; escalate per escalation matrix.
 Reliability & Improvement: Participate in RCFA, Kaizens, 5S audits, and minor modification projects to reduce downtime and improve line speeds.
 Safety Systems: Adhere to LOTO, isolation procedures, machine guarding checks, and interlock functionality tests.

Shift Operations:
 Works in rotational shifts to support plant operations.
 Coordinate with CFT’s teams for related matters. 

Safety Responsibility
 Shall be responsible for the Safety requirements of his work area and will ensure the Safety compliance. Knowledge / Skills – Should be conversant with the Safety requirements, Safety
Protocols and any specific Safety Related Laws and Regulations applicable to the work area and should have demonstrated the same. 

Qualifications:
 B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Chemical / Production) from a govt. recognized institute.
 0–1 year (fresh graduates welcome). Prior internship/apprenticeship in FMCG/chemical manufacturing is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:
 Technical Fundamentals: Basics of unit operations (mixing, heating, cooling), mechanical systems, and instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, pH).
 Manufacturing Systems: Exposure to TPM/5S, OEE concepts, and CMMS data entry; basic SAP familiarity is a plus.
 Quality & EHS: Understanding of GMP, SOPs, MSDS, PPE and LOTO.
 Data & Documentation: Comfort with batch records, checklists, and Excel-based reporting.
