Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Property Underwriter for our Mumbai, the candidate will assist in evaluating and underwriting marine insurance risks, preparing quotes, and supporting the senior underwriting team.


Quoting and Documentation:

   - Prepare and issue quotes for marine insurance policies based on initial risk assessments and underwriting guidelines.

   - Assist in drafting policy documents, endorsements, and related paperwork.

 Risk Assessment Support:

   - Collect and review basic risk information from clients, brokers, and agents.

   - Perform preliminary analysis of risk data and present findings to senior underwriters.

 Client Interaction:

   - Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients to gather required information for quotes.

   - Provide initial explanations of coverage options, terms, and conditions to clients and stakeholders.

   - Assist in negotiating policy terms and conditions under the supervision of senior underwriters.

 Policy Management:

   - Maintain accurate records of quotes, policies, and endorsements.

   - Assist in the management and renewal of existing policies, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.

   - Monitor policy statuses and follow up on outstanding information or actions.

 Training and Development:

   - Participate in training programs to develop underwriting skills and knowledge of marine insurance.

   - Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in marine underwriting.

 

Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiarity with underwriting software or risk assessment tools is a plus.

- Certifications: Insurance qualifications (e.g., III, CPCU, ARM) are preferred.

- Skills:

  - Strong analytical and organizational abilities.

  - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  - Attention to detail and ability to work under supervision.

  - Eagerness to learn and develop in the underwriting field.
