Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically strong ServiceNow Developer (2–3 years experience) to support and enhance our ITSM platform. The role requires hands-on development capability, strong understanding of ITSM processes, and experience working in Agile teams. You will work on configuring, customizing, and extending ServiceNow ITSM modules, improving automation, optimizing workflows, and ensuring scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 ServiceNow Development

  • Develop and customize ServiceNow ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge).
  • Create and modify:
  • Business Rules
  • Client Scripts
  • Script Includes
  • UI Policies
  • Flow Designer workflows
  • Service Catalog items
  • Build and enhance integrations using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Implement notifications and event-driven automation.
  • Support CMDB data quality and relationships.

🔹 ITSM Process Support

  • Translate ITIL-based ITSM requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support improvements in Incident, Change, and Problem management processes.
  • Assist in automation and ticket deflection initiatives.
  • Ensure proper role-based access controls (ACLs).

🔹 Agile & Delivery

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.
  • Break user stories into technical tasks.
  • Estimate development effort.
  • Deliver features aligned to Definition of Done (DoD).
  • Support UAT and production deployments.

🔹 Quality & Governance

  • Follow ServiceNow best practices and upgrade-safe development.
  • Perform code reviews and unit testing.
  • Ensure documentation of configurations and customizations.
  • Support platform upgrades and regression testing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

✅ Technical Skills:

  • 2–3 years hands-on experience in ServiceNow development.
  • Strong JavaScript knowledge (server-side and client-side scripting).
  • Experience with:
  1. Flow Designer
  2. IntegrationHub (basic understanding)
  3. REST APIs
  4. Service Catalog development
  5. Good understanding of:
  6. CMDB fundamentals
  7. Access Control (ACLs)
  8. Data model and tables
  9. Experience in instance management (dev/test/prod).

✅ ITSM & Process Awareness:

  • Understanding of ITIL concepts:
  • Incident lifecycle
  • Change management lifecycle
  • Problem management basics
  • SLA management
  • Awareness of IT operations and service desk workflows.

✅ Agile & Soft Skills:

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
  • Clear communication with functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Self-driven and accountable for deliverables.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • ServiceNow CSA (Certified System Administrator).

Good to have - Exposure to:

  • Performance Analytics
  • Event Management
  • Virtual Agent
  • AI search or basic automation
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Awareness around usage of AI for Development 
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD in ServiceNow (Update Sets / App Repo / DevOps integration).
