Dipta Ranjan Das resides in Kolkata, West Bengal. He has an Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is very skilled in making Table mats and coasters, Torans and Diyas. He engages himself in making diyas a fortnight before Diwali. All his efforts culminate in a sense of pride and satisfaction with the lighting up of diyas on Diwali evening. As Diwali comes to an end, he goes back to his regular schedule with a substantial part of his leisure time engaged in making Toran, a string of colourful beads, bells and decorative pieces joined together to form a symmetrical show piece. His work is widely acclaimed and recognised in various fairs and exhibitions, this creation has showcased his creativity and talent. He believes that his creations will be appreciated and recognised by all as a means to attain self reliance, vocational and financial independence.
