 Atypical Advantage takes a deeper dive at inclusive hiring through key Japanese partnerships like Suzuki Motorcycle India, celebrates Co-Founder Laharee winning the 17th NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Award and highlights workplace accessibility initiatives across 25+ Tata Group companies sharing the same with a meeting with Chairman Noel Tata. | | Sharing our experience of working with 25+ Tata companies with Mr. Noel Tata | Recently, our Founder and CEO, Vineet Saraiwala, had the opportunity to meet Mr. Noel Tata, Chairman of Tata Trusts, and reflect on Atypical Advantage’s growing journey with the Tata ecosystem. He shared our work with 25+ Tata companies, driving meaningful employment opportunities and helping build more inclusive workplaces for Persons with Disabilities. From Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division, where Persons with Disabilities were hired as Security Control Room Operators, to Tata Motors’ inclusive hiring initiatives across its manufacturing plants in Sanand and Jamshedpur, the journey is opening doors to new opportunities across sectors. Vineet also shared about our work with Tata AutoComp, where persons with hearing impairment and locomotor disabilities have been hired, as well as multiple initiatives with Tata Power through its Pay Autention programme, including Speed Mentoring, UI/UX batch for neurodivergent candidates and an upcoming project of Spectrum Kitchen, enabling neurodivergent bakers. With yet another Japanese partnership strengthening our mission, we are excited to unlock livelihood opportunities for many more persons with disabilities in the months ahead. | Head of Inclusive Hiring receives the Role Model Working Professionals Award | We are proud to share that Laharee, Co-Founder and Head of Inclusive Hiring at Atypical Advantage, has been recognised with the Role Model Working Professionals Award at the 17th NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Awards 2026. Over the years, Laharee has been an integral part of Atypical Advantage’s journey towards creating more inclusive workplaces, particularly in the manufacturing sector. Her work has focused on building inclusion beyond recruitment, through accessibility audits, workplace preparation, supervisor sensitisation and post-placement support. Her work has contributed to 410 placements of persons with disabilities, including 250 placements in technical manufacturing roles and 160 in ancillary functions, across 15+ manufacturing plants. | Student with 90% Spinal Muscular Disability Secures IIT-Madras BS Data Science Admission | J Santhosh, a 17-year-old student living with 90% spinal muscular disability and cerebral palsy, secured admission to IIT Madras' Bachelor of Science (BS) program in Data Science and Applications. Supported by NGO TN Volunteers and flexible digital learning modules, Santhosh successfully cleared the qualifiers, demonstrating how accessible higher education options create pathways for students with severe physical disabilities.
