She landed a new job after THIS mentorship program! 🤯
This edition highlights Khaitan & Co’s workplace neurodiversity workshop, the career-changing success of Tata Power’s speed mentoring program for neurodivergent candidates, and Atypical Advantage Founder Vineet Saraiwala’s inspiring return to IIM Bangalore to discuss scaling social entrepreneurship.
Khaitan and Co create space for different ways of thinking
What does neurodiversity look like in the workplace? And how can teams create an environment where different ways of thinking, communicating and working are understood and supported? These questions shaped a 60-minute Neurodiversity Awareness Workshop at Khaitan & Co., led by Juhi, Head of Corporate Partnerships. The session sparked meaningful conversations as participants connected the discussion to situations they encounter in their everyday work. From navigating different perspectives within teams and departments to understanding how colleagues may communicate and process information differently, the conversation helped bring neurodiversity closer to the realities of the workplace.
When Tata Power Speed Mentoring led to new beginnings
Atypical Advantage successfully completed yet another batch of Speed Mentoring Program with Tata Power for candidates with neurodiversity. For Paulie and his mentor, Phaniraj Chandra (from Tata Power), the mentorship journey led to a significant milestone. With her mentor’s guidance and support, Paulie secured a job matching her interests in a private company, turning their conversations into a real career opportunity. While another duo of a mentor and mentee, who happened to live in Mumbai met in person for lunch after successfully completing their mentorship journey, sharing jokes, insights and warmth over a table of delicious food. Sometimes, the impact of a mentorship programme is seen in what happens after it ends.
Vineet Saraiwala’s ‘back to campus’ moment at IIM Bangalore
At IIM Bangalore, our Founder and IIMB alumnus Vineet Saraiwala returned to the classroom, this time not as a student, but as a guest speaker for the Social Entrepreneurship class led by Prof. Trilochan Sastry. Through the session, students explored how to approach complex social problems with empathy, think about solutions that can create impact at scale, and turn ideas into meaningful action. For Vineet, returning to the classroom where he once sat as a student and now sharing lessons from his own journey of building Atypical Advantage, was a day worth remembering. For the students, it was an opportunity to hear firsthand from someone who had once been in their place and had since taken the ideas of social entrepreneurship into the real world.
Delhi High Court Rules UDID Card Prevails for PwBD Category Eligibility in NEET-UG Admissions
The Delhi High Court ruled that a valid Unique Disability ID (UDID) card takes precedence in determining a candidate's eligibility under the PwBD quota in NEET-UG admissions. The court held that Medical Assessment Boards cannot re-assess or arbitrarily lower the percentage of disability recorded in the UDID card, safeguarding candidates with benchmark disabilities against administrative disqualification.
