Short Bio

At the age of 16, Md Asif Iqbal experienced a life-changing event, losing 100% sight in both eyes. Initially disheartened and struggling with denial, he almost gave up on his aspirations and the possibility of achieving anything significant in life. However, a profound moment occurred when a teacher's words sparked a transformational shift in his perspective. Determined not only to strive for his own future but also to contribute positively to society, Md Asif Iqbal resolved to dedicate himself fully to making a difference. Today, he measures his success not by personal achievements alone but by the impact he has on others' lives. His greatest joy comes from witnessing the tangible difference he makes, such as seeing the smile on a young visually impaired woman's face when she achieved her dream job with his assistance. Md Asif Iqbal's focus extends beyond personal triumphs; he is passionately committed to advocating for the rights and opportunities of millions facing similar challenges. Recently, he had the privilege of discussing accessibility initiatives with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the importance of universal access for the differently abled throughout India. Currently collaborating with PwC and the Indian government, Md Asif Iqbal works tirelessly to advance universal access to essential services and infrastructure for all communities in his country. He recalls his teacher's advice years ago, which continues to inspire him: "You can either be a nobody or you can create your own identity. Make your choice." Md Asif Iqbal made his choice.
