Short Bio
Garima has a MA in Gender Studies from Ambedkar University Delhi, where theywrote a dissertation titled Masculinities in Sex Work under the supervision of Dr.Lovitoli Jimo. Their thesis focused on looking at the client’s masculinity from the sex workers point of view. While pursuing their masters they also did an internship with Orikalankini, where they created a podcast on the experiences of trans* men and gender non binary folks on menstruation. Orikalankini is an organisation which works on changing narratives about mensuration. They also work with Asia Safe Abortion Partnership which works on area safe abortion, as a freelance transcription consultant and have also written research papers in the areas of gender, sexuality. They have also worked with Jagori Rural Charitable Trust, which works with rural women in the areas of leadership, health, violence, farming and also with adolescent girls as a documentation and publishing consultant. Their last workplace was Sangath where they worked on a project for capacity building of LGBTQIA+ and disability communities.
