Poochkoo breaks barriers and hires person with visual impairment | Taking care of pets is not just about who takes care of your pet, but how they do it. Poochkoo, Pet care services, believes true care comes from empathy from people who understand love in its purest form. That’s why they’ve opened their doors to persons with disabilities who know patience and compassion like no one else. Poochkoo recently hired Melvina, a woman with visual impairment, as their Customer Service Executive. Every day, she listens to pet parents, handles their queries, and ensures each dog’s needs are perfectly matched with the right care. Her warmth and precision have made her an invaluable part of the team. For too long, society has failed to map the skills of people with disabilities to meaningful work. Poochkoo is changing that narrative and is moving toward roles in pet handling and facility management across different disabilities. | 3 months of mentoring, a lifetime of bonding | “Special students need special educators.” Right? TATA Power just proved otherwise. Through its Speed Mentoring Program, leaders at Tata Power connected with aspiring candidates with disabilities, creating a three-month journey of co-learning. While the Mentees learned more about the corporate world, the mentors discovered different perspective and the limitless potential of persons with disabilities. Beyond careers, they celebrated small joys while singing, dancing, and sharing festive cheer. What started as a mentorship program created lifelong bonds built on empathy and mutual respect. The closing ceremony was a heartwarming reminder that inclusion doesn’t require a degree just intent. Thank you to every mentor, mentee, and TATA Power for showing true inclusion in action. | Today we pause to celebrate impact | Behind every flawless execution, there’s relentless team effort. From delivering 100+ art pieces for HDFC Ergo to brighten their corridors with paintings by artists with disabilities, to hosting playful, enriching workshops for Ather Energy, to delivering disability sensitization workshops across India at Reckitt offices, our team has worked tirelessly to champion inclusion. The heartwarming responses from our clients remind us why we do what we do and today we celebrate each member of Atypical Advantage for going beyond the boundaries of a workday, taking that extra step because they believe in the cause, and ensuring every execution runs seamlessly.
