Inclusion finds its home at Reckitt and Tata Steel | This month, Reckitt Beckniser team conducted multiple Disability Sensitization Workshops for their support staff and housekeeping teams. Designed to be visual, interactive, and hands-on, these sessions were packed with small tasks but big impact. So far, the team has successfully rolled out four workshops across Uttarakhand, Gurgaon, and Mysuru, with several more planned in Hosur and Gurgaon. These workshops aimed to shift perceptions, especially for support staff who felt they couldn’t play a big role in fostering inclusion. With over 500+ people already sensitized, the Reckitt team is building awareness and inclusion from the ground up, creating workplaces where everyone feels valued. | One year down the line: Inclusion at Tata Steel’s Bokaro Mines | Last year, Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division broke new ground, when for the first time, persons with disabilities were hired in mine operations, a space long considered too hazardous for inclusive employment. Four individuals with hearing and locomotor disabilities joined as CCTV operators, through a thoughtful approach that matched roles with strengths and provided hands-on training. What once seemed impossible became a working reality. Now, a year later, their contribution continues to make an impact. From actively monitoring control rooms to resolving security challenges, these employees have excelled. As we look ahead, let’s use West Bokaro’s example as inspiration to scale such initiatives across industries, because if inclusion can thrive in the heart of a coal mine, it can thrive anywhere. | When dedication wears a uniform | Meet Unnati, a remarkable professional with Hearing Impairment, who has become an indispensable part of the security department.
