KFC India is cooking up a recipe of change in the QSR industry | This International Day of Sign Languages, KFC India marked a milestone breakthrough in inclusion by launching a Written English Comprehension Program for its Speech and Hearing Impaired (SHI) team members. This is a pioneering step in the QSR industry, and Atypical Advantage is proud to partner with KFC in training 100% of its Speech and Hearing Impaired (SHI) team members by 2026 in essential writing and comprehension skills. With 300+ enthusiastic participants joining from across locations, the session unfolded as a dynamic two sided experience: on one side of the screen, Shreya brought her art to life, while on the other, participants followed along with joy and excitement. “Not once did we feel that Shreya didn’t understand us. Her art connected so deeply that it felt like we were creating together,” shared one of the participants. As the session drew to a close, participants proudly displayed their creations, leaving Shreya pleasantly surprised at the incredible talent among the audience. Kudos to Shreya and the Nexus team for making International Sign Language Day a celebration of creativity, inclusion, and shared joy! | Bridging Silence with Sign: 100+ Employees Trained in a Single Day | Can you break silence, with another silent language? Leading companies joined hands with Atypical Advantage to celebrate the beauty of communication beyond words. Together, we trained over 100+ employees in a single day and embraced the basics of Indian Sign Language (ISL). At LinkedIn, the team not only learned ISL etiquettes but also experienced a live storytelling session in ISL. At Sony, curiosity and excitement filled the room as employees actively asked for signs for specific statements and immediately began using them in the session itself, not out of obligation, but with genuine eagerness to learn and connect. At Khaitan & Co., the session turned into an engaging dialogue where employees realized how simply knowing a few basic signs could help them communicate with a Deaf colleague. The experiences were different, but one message was same: We want to learn more. Employees requested their management to organize more sessions in the future which proved that the hunger for inclusive learning is growing stronger than ever. | What are you doing this International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPwD)? | As we approach IDPwD, it’s the perfect opportunity to honour and empower individuals with disabilities.
