How can we improve India’s massive educational and skilling inequality for millions of people with disabilities? | Despite constitutional guarantees and reservations, inequality remains deeply entrenched. Many children with disabilities never enter school, others drop out early, and far too few complete higher education. These gaps directly translate into unequal employment outcomes without education; meaningful jobs remain out of reach. India mandates 5% reservation for persons with disabilities in higher education, including IITs and other premier institutes, yet many seats go vacant due to lack of preparation, awareness, accessibility, and support systems. With AI reshaping the future of work, this gap will only widen unless we act now. These concerns moved us to act not just speak. We are launching Atypical Academy, India’s first accessible learning platform for persons with disabilities, with screen-reader friendly design, sign-language learning support, dedicated mentors, adaptive learning, and an AI tutor to help learners study at their own pace. | Get persons with disabilities into India’s top colleges | We must dramatically increase the number of students who are not just eligible for reserved seats, but highly competitive especially in Maths, Science and STEM, which will define the future. We are launching the first batches for JEE & CUET in 2026 and wait for a person with disability to be an All India Rank 1 soon. | Drive technical and manufacturing education | India’s growth depends on manufacturing and advanced vocational skills from mechatronics to EVs, batteries and semiconductors. Inclusion must be embedded in ITIs and vocational pathways that lead to sustainable livelihoods.
